Heather Kellett, MD is a fellowship-trained orthopaedic surgeon with sub-specialized training in sports medicine and arthroscopic surgery of the shoulder, knee, elbow and hip. She is an active member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS), the Arthroscopy Association of North America (AANA), and the International Society of Arthroscopy, Knee Surgery, and Orthopaedic Sports Medicine.

Dr. Kellett graduated with honors from Georgetown University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and a minor in Biology in 2014. She then received her Doctorate of Medicine from Georgetown University School of Medicine in 2018. Following medical school, she completed her orthopaedic residency at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia, where she was awarded the Temple Emergency Department Consultant of the Year award (2019-2020). During her time at Temple she gained valuable experience managing general orthopaedic conditions and managing traumatic bone and joint injuries.

She then completed her orthopaedic sports medicine fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania and the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia combined program, during which time she won an award from the Philadelphia Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine for her research looking at the effect of glenoid version on recurrent shoulder instability. Her fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania gave her invaluable experience working with international leaders in arthroscopy, ligament reconstruction and cartilage preservation. Her time working with orthopaedic sports physicians at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia allowed her to work with international leaders in arthroscopy for pediatric patients, and gave her a distinct appreciation for the special considerations that working with adolescent athletes requires.

Prior to joining Princeton Bone and Joint, Dr. Kellett was privileged to serve as a team physician for the Philadelphia 76ers, the Philadelphia Flyers, and the Philadelphia Union. She also served as a team physician for the University of Pennsylvania along with multiple high school teams in the Philadelphia region.

Dr. Kellett is a New Jersey native and enjoys running, yoga, going to the beach, and exploring nature with her family in her free time. She is a strong believer in the principle of “Cura Personalis”, or care of the whole person, instilled in her during her time at Georgetown. Her greatest joy in her professional life is working with athletes and their families to help to restore their function, alleviate pain, and get patients back to performing the activities that they love.
