Bill Biskup started his career as a registered nurse at Jefferson University Hospital in 1987, working in orthopedic trauma and spinal cord injury. During his 10 years there he saw patients suffering and not having their pain adequately addressed. This led Bill to return to school, at the University of Pennsylvania, where he received his Master’s Degree in Nursing in May of 1997. Upon graduating as a Nurse Practitioner, Bill immediately took a position in a physical medicine-based pain management practice. After 5 years in physical medicine & rehabilitation, he made the move to interventional pain management. For over 30 years, Bill has used his nursing and psychology background to work with patients to help them deal with the impact that pain has on every aspect of their lives, empowering them to take control of their pain and life and navigate the healthcare system. He believes in a multidisciplinary holistic approach to pain, encompassing many modalities to achieve the most effective relief possible. Bill finds satisfaction working in pain management because he can build long-term relationships with his patients, helping them to live their best lives.
